Vieux Château Certan dates back to the 1500s. The Demay family came from Scotland, and in 1785 the name “Sertan” was seen for the first time on Belleyme’s map.
Charles de Bousquet took over ownership in 1858. Under his leadership, the château that stands there today was built,
In 1924, Georges Thienpont bought the château; he was the reason for the cult status that Vieux Château Certan has today.
The estate has 14 hectares of vineyards, divided into 23 plots. All plots are vinified separately to preserve their unique terroir.
The vines are 50 years old on average and all grapes are hand-harvested.
Aged 18 months in small French oak barrels, 60% of which are new.
Grape composition: 78% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon.

All frozen goods shipped to private customers are sent to thaw in the insulated box. Please order your items according to when you need them. You can always choose your preferred delivery date at checkout.
If you do NOT wish to receive your frozen goods thawed, you can purchase frozen shipping here. Please note that we only guarantee that your goods remain frozen for up to 12 hours after delivery to the parcel shop. Therefore, make sure to collect your package promptly.
