In 1920, PRUNIER was known as the largest caviar house outside Russia.

When Emile PRUNIER discovered in 1920 that sturgeon lived in the rivers of the French Gironde, he initiated the first caviar production in France. The caviar harvester, or โ€œIkranichtโ€ as it is known in Russian, needed only to bring a wooden sieve to extract the caviar from the roe sack.
