Studio RAW is a series of tableware designed for the modern kitchen – with aesthetics, tactility and character as the focal point. The series was created with the desire to give chefs, restaurants and concept developers a tool that matches the kitchen’s identity and enhances the guest experience. Studio RAW is not just tableware – it elevates the dish at the table.
The inspiration arose in practice, when in a creative conversation on the back of a beer coaster the need was sketched for a set that could elevate sensory and honest dishes – and that could speak with the kitchen instead of merely carrying it.

Raw expression. Refined technique
The visual language in Studio RAW is natural and lively. The glazes are developed as reactive glazes, which creates deep colour play and subtle variations from piece to piece. Each surface therefore becomes unique, and the handmade character gives an authentic, raw and organic expression that makes it possible to emphasise ingredients, textures and plating.
Behind the development is ceramic technician Martin Blommaert, former production and laboratory manager at Royal Delft. With a background in screen printing, glaze development and ceramic production setup, he is the man who ensures that each piece of tableware performs in the kitchen – and withstands professional demands.

Designers and craftsmen in collaboration
Studio RAW works closely with craft studios around the world to give ceramists a global platform. One example is the Balinese studio Kevala, which has developed a modular collection in collaboration with Studio RAW. Here, aesthetic balance and practical functionality are combined, with the explicit aim of letting the food be the star – not the plate.
Another collaboration is with RBC Ceramics, which creates simple, handmade stoneware pieces with a focus on storytelling, tactility and imperfection as a quality – exactly as seen in many modern Nordic and Japanese kitchens.
