Érabliùre Escuminac – Organic maple syrup with roots in tradition and respect for nature

ÉrabliĂšre Escuminac was founded in 1998 by Martin Malenfant, a third-generation producer with more than 35 years of experience in maple syrup. Located in Baie-des-Chaleurs in the GaspĂ©sie region of Quebec, Escuminac operates a 500-hectare area covered with old maple trees – a landscape that also hosts one of the most impressive collections of mature yellow birch trees in the entire province.

Martin Malenfant has worked with maple syrup since childhood, where he as a boy explored the family’s sugar bushes. In 1987, he bought his first sugar shack in Ste-Rita, and after many years of work, development and investment in quality and sustainability, Érabliùre Escuminac became a reality.

Organic from start to finish

The goal has been clear from the beginning: to produce a syrup of uncompromising quality, based on organic and gentle principles. As early as 2006, Escuminac received its official organic certification after several years of implementing strict production standards and forest management.

Today, organic sap is tapped from as many as 65,000 maple trees as well as an additional 5,000 birch trees, and the entire process is designed to preserve the balance of nature and ensure maximum quality in the finished syrup.

A craft with depth

Martin Malenfant is considered among the most recognized syrup producers in Quebec – both for his technical skills and his dedication to sustainable production. His expertise is reflected in every bottle: a syrup with great depth, natural sweetness and a complex aroma, making it suitable for both savory and sweet kitchens.

The syrup is tapped and produced without the use of additives, and the quality is controlled throughout the entire process – from tree to bottle.
