Chambertin is one of the most prestigious Grand Cru appellations in Burgundy and is located in Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits. Wines from this vineyard are considered among the most structured and complex Pinot Noir wines in the region.
This wine is produced by Domaine Pierre Damoy, a family-owned domaine with strong roots in Gevrey-Chambertin. The winery was founded by Julien Damoy and carried on by the family through generations. Today, Pierre Damoy is known for wines that clearly reflect the terroir and microclimate of each individual parcel.
The work begins in the vineyard, where the focus is on bringing out the character of each parcel and vine. The grapes are harvested relatively late in the appellation to achieve optimal ripeness, after which they are sorted manually cluster by cluster upon arrival at the winery.
The 2018 vintage is characterized by ripe grapes and good concentration, resulting in a wine with both depth and structure.
The nose offers classic Pinot Noir aromas of cherry, red berries, and floral nuances, followed by spicy and lightly earthy notes.
The palate is concentrated and well-structured with a firm core of fruit. Fine tannins and balanced acidity give a wine with depth, minerality, and a long finish.
