Waves & Clouds

In 2024, ceramist and owner of Hering Berlin, Stefanie Hering, began a collaboration with César Giraldo, founder of the Los Angeles-based design firm César Giraldo Design. The result is Waves & Clouds – a porcelain collection that combines high functionality, craftsmanship precision, and a visual expression that appeals to the senses. Where Waves draws the eye down into the depths of the sea, Clouds lifts the mind toward the sky.
Waves
The collection introduces a new approach to glazing, where the glaze serves as the central motif, framed by white Bisque, unglazed porcelain. The decoration shows powerful wave formations in deep cobalt blue and marks a collaboration between Hering Berlin and César Giraldo, launched in 2024.
Clouds
In Clouds, one encounters dissolving clouds on white Bisque, unglazed porcelain. The series was developed in the same collaboration and launched in 2024. The motif reflects the light movements of the sky in a precise and detailed expression.
Stefanie Hering
As owner and creative director of Hering Berlin, Stefanie Hering realizes her design visions through a team of specialized artisans who challenge the materials – whether Bisque, unglazed porcelain, clay, mouth-blown glass, stainless steel, or cast iron. The result is objects characterized by distinctive shapes, tactile surfaces, and high durability. Hering Berlin now works independently and supplies leading restaurants and interior projects worldwide.
César Giraldo
César Giraldo, originally from Colombia, early on developed a fascination with color and form, which remains the foundation of his work. As founder and chief designer of César Giraldo Design in West Hollywood, he leads a broad spectrum of projects within residential, commercial, and hospitality – both in the USA and internationally. His approach combines modern luxury with classic craft traditions, creating spaces where innovation and timelessness meet.
Hering Berlin – timeless design in porcelain and crystal
Hering Berlin’s porcelain tableware and crystal glassware are created to awaken the senses – a delight to the eye and a pleasure to touch. The materials are carefully selected and the craftsmanship refines traditions that stretch back centuries. The result is unique tableware, where each plate appears as a small work of art and functions both as a practical tool and as a sculptural object.
The modern expression stands on the shoulders of more than 300 years of tradition in table culture and craftsmanship, yet is also timeless and relevant today.
