Common daisy (Bellis perennis) is an edible flower known from meadows and grassy areas in large parts of Europe. The flower contains, among other things, vitamin C, essential oils, and tannins, and has historically been used in both cooking and traditional herbal preparations.
Buds and half-open flowers have a pleasant nutty flavor, while fully open flowers have a slightly bitter character. They are therefore often used as a supplement in salads and other dishes, where they add both flavor and a decorative look.
The flowers can also be pickled in vinegar and used as a seasoning. The pickled buds are in some cases used as an alternative to capers.
The flowers are hand-picked to ensure consistent quality and freshness.
