Leatherwood honey is considered the world’s rarest honey, harvested in one of the few completely untouched natural areas on Earth: the ancient natural heritage forest in Tasmania. This rainforest has remained undisturbed for more than one million years and lies at latitude 42° south—shared with New Zealand’s South Island and the southernmost South America. The area is known as The Roaring Forties, where strong and constant westerly winds and humid air create perfect conditions for the Leatherwood tree.
Summer is extremely short—only 6–8 weeks from mid-January to mid-March. It is during this period that the Leatherwood tree (Eucryphia lucida) blooms. The tree produces an abundance of small, delicate white flowers with a distinctive piquant aroma.
During these few weeks, Tasmanian beekeepers camp deep in the wilderness to harvest the honey directly from the hives. The harsh conditions and limited flowering period make Leatherwood honey both rare and highly sought after globally. The honey is also naturally organic because the area is so isolated, untouched, and protected.

We guarantee that the package remains cold for up to 12 hours after arrival at the selected parcel shop. Please make sure to collect your package promptly. If the package is collected later than 12 hours after arrival, the right to make a complaint is void.
Shipping of frozen goods to private customers:
All frozen goods shipped to private customers are sent to thaw in the insulated box. Please order your items according to when you need them. You can always choose your preferred delivery date at checkout.
If you do NOT wish to receive your frozen goods thawed, you can purchase frozen shipping here. Please note that we only guarantee that your goods remain frozen for up to 12 hours after delivery to the parcel shop. Therefore, make sure to collect your package promptly.
