Tasmanian Honey Company – Pure honey with origin in the wild Tasmanian nature
Julian Wolfhagen founded Tasmanian Honey Company in 1978 with a simple goal: to produce a honey that reflects the pure, wild nature of Tasmania. His passion for bees, biodiversity and natural production has since been the driving force behind the company. Many describe his honey as a distillate of Tasmania’s ecosystem – a product that reflects its origin directly in the taste.
Mobile beekeeping – full utilization of the flowering season
Julian and his team move the hives according to flowering and season across different parts of Tasmania. This ensures that the bees always work with fresh and pure floral sources – without contact with sprayed fields, highways or industry. This mobile approach ensures a natural, pesticide-free honey with high botanical variation.

Leatherwood honey
Leatherwood honeyLeatherwood honey is considered the world’s rarest honey, harvested in one of the few completely untouched natural areas on Earth: the ancient natural heritage forest in Tasmania. This rainforest has remained undisturbed for more than one million years and lies at latitude 42° south—shared with New Zealand’s South Island…

No additives – only nature’s own product
The honey is 100% pure and free from additives. No sugar solutions, colorants or preservatives are used. It is a honey that chefs and food enthusiasts can use with full confidence in both taste and quality.
Gentle processing – all flavor nuances preserved
In conventional production, honey is often heat-treated to remove bacteria and make it more fluid, which reduces aroma and destroys the texture. At Tasmanian Honey Company, the temperature never exceeds 40 °C throughout the entire process. This ensures that the honey retains its natural enzyme activity, its thick, creamy consistency and the complex flavor profile that develops directly during extraction.
The result is a honey with pronounced depth, clear floral notes and a texture like freshly harvested.
